March 2010

March was a potluck: Chelsea, SoHo, Park Slope, TriBeCa, and the West Side Highway, were all areas scouted for food graffiti, but no one neighborhood dominated. Familiar players made appearances (Egg Yolk, Cupcakes, Katsu, and Forks) but there were some curious tags (Lunch Crew, solicitations to email the Boom Boom Room) and cool ones too, like a peach and a pizza slice.

This month also raised the question: what’s up with the angry food graffiti? March featured an angry carrot in Williamsburg and an angry toaster along the West Side Highway.
